For Bassam Challita, music began long before it became part of his professional identity. The production reached an international audience when it was presented at Spain’s Murcia Tres Culturas Festival in 2025, one of the major international cultural platforms celebrating dialogue and exchange between different cultural traditions. The performance brought together artists from Lebanon, Spain and Romania, creating an international ensemble that reflected the cross-cultural spirit at the heart of the project.
The journey of Fantasia Al Andalus later continued to the 40th Jerash Festival in Jordan, another major international cultural platform with a longstanding role in bringing artists and audiences together from across the region and beyond. For Bassam, taking the production from Lebanon to Europe and the wider region was not simply about expanding a show. It represented the possibility of allowing an idea about cultural connection to travel between societies.
That is where his work becomes larger than music.
