More recently, in July 2026, Asaad was present at an event held by Lebanon’s Housing Bank honoring Kuwait and its ambassador to Lebanon. His presence reflected the continuing role of the Lebanese Kuwaiti Business Council in strengthening relations between the two countries.

He previously served as President of Nejmeh Sporting Club, one of Lebanon’s best known football clubs. His time with the club placed him in a highly visible position within Lebanese sport.
Nejmeh is not simply a football organization. It carries a strong identity within Lebanese sporting culture, with a long history dating back to its establishment in Beirut in 1945.
Asaad’s leadership period at the club was marked by efforts to think about football through a broader organizational lens. During his presidency, Nejmeh entered into a cooperation agreement with Arsenal that included areas such as academy development, coaching, administration and marketing. Asaad instructed the club’s management to follow up on the proposed cooperation.

His football chapter eventually came to an end. In August 2021, Asaad announced his resignation from the presidency of Nejmeh after four years, describing the period as an enjoyable experience and wishing the club continued success.

Football was not the only sporting world where Asaad became involved.
His public profile also connects him with Al Riyadi, one of Lebanon’s prominent basketball institutions, where he has been associated with the Board of Trustees.
