With more than two decades of experience in education and human development, Zeena has built a career that connects several worlds. She is an educator, professional coach, entrepreneur and facilitator, while also exploring the powerful relationship between humans, nature and horses.
Her work today is closely connected with Creative Nest Early Childhood Centre and The Wholeness Project. Through these platforms, she works with educators, parents, leaders and individuals who are looking for a deeper understanding of themselves and the people around them.
Her story is especially inspiring because it reflects an evolution rather than a single career decision. Zeena began her professional journey as an engineer before moving into education and eventually human development. That transition demonstrates a willingness to follow curiosity and purpose rather than remain confined to an expected professional path.
Building A Different Kind Of Educational Environment
One of Zeena’s most significant achievements has been her work with Creative Nest Early Childhood Centre in Dubai.
As co-founder and managing director, she helped shape an educational environment where children’s emotional wellbeing is treated as an essential part of learning. Her approach incorporates trauma-informed care, relationship-based education and child-centred practices.
For Zeena, creating a nurturing environment is not simply about making children comfortable. It is about understanding that early experiences can influence confidence, relationships and the way children see themselves and the world.
Her work has also extended beyond children. Zeena has consistently focused on supporting parents and educators because she understands that adults play a major role in creating the emotional environments in which children grow.
Through workshops, support circles and coaching, she encourages mothers and educators to become more conscious of their own experiences while developing healthier relationships with children.
The result is an approach to education that looks beyond traditional academic measures and asks a more meaningful question: what kind of person is the child becoming?
When Personal Growth Became Part Of Her Mission
Zeena’s transition into professional coaching added another dimension to her work.
Her own coaching journey became particularly significant during the pandemic, when she discovered Co-Active coaching and experienced its potential for personal transformation. That experience eventually influenced the direction of her professional life.
Today, she holds professional coaching credentials including PCC and CPCC and has developed expertise across different coaching approaches. Her work includes somatic practices, positive intelligence, trauma-informed approaches and horse-guided empowerment coaching.
Rather than treating these disciplines as separate tools, Zeena brings them together to create experiences that encourage people to pause, listen and reconnect.
Her philosophy can be captured in a simple idea:
“Wholeness begins when we stop trying to become someone else and start listening to who we already are.”
That belief sits at the centre of much of her work.
The Wholeness Project Brings Nature Into Coaching
The Wholeness Project represents one of the most distinctive parts of Zeena’s current journey.
The project grew from her desire to help people reconnect with themselves through nature, embodied awareness and meaningful experiences. One of its most unusual elements is horse-guided coaching.
For someone experiencing coaching for the first time, working alongside horses may seem very different from sitting across a desk with a traditional coach. Yet Zeena’s approach is built around the sensitivity and nonverbal communication of horses.
Horses respond to body language, energy and changes in their surroundings. That creates an opportunity for people to notice their own reactions in a completely different setting.
Instead of simply talking about confidence, boundaries, communication or leadership, participants can experience these themes in real time.
The experience encourages people to slow down and pay attention to what their bodies may already be communicating.
This is particularly relevant to Zeena’s somatic approach, which recognizes that personal awareness is not only a mental process. The body can also provide valuable information about emotions, stress and decision making.

One of the most interesting aspects of Zeena’s philosophy is her belief that nature can become a teacher.
Her horses are not presented simply as part of an activity. They are part of a reflective process that encourages participants to observe, feel and respond.
For Zeena, this creates a different kind of learning environment. Away from the pressure of professional titles, social expectations and everyday responsibilities, people have the opportunity to notice what happens internally.
This approach can be especially meaningful for leaders, coaches, business owners and professionals who spend much of their lives making decisions for others.
Zeena’s work challenges them to consider whether they are also listening to themselves.
Her perspective on leadership reflects this philosophy. Rather than seeing leadership only as strategy and performance, she emphasizes self-awareness, emotional regulation and authentic connection.
It is an approach that makes personal wellbeing part of effective leadership rather than something that comes after professional success.
Balancing Many Roles Without Losing Herself
Behind Zeena’s professional achievements is another part of her story that many people can relate to.
She is a mother of four, an educator, entrepreneur, coach and leader. Managing several demanding roles can easily lead to exhaustion, particularly for women who are often expected to support everyone around them while putting their own needs aside.
Zeena has spoken about the importance of remembering to care for oneself while caring for others.
This theme is closely connected with her coaching philosophy. Personal growth is not about becoming perfect or having every part of life under control. Instead, it is about developing greater awareness and making choices that are aligned with personal values.
Her own journey demonstrates that growth can involve changing direction, learning again and allowing new interests to influence an established career.
Creating Impact Beyond Her Own Work
Zeena’s influence has also expanded through speaking, training and her work as a faculty member with the Co-Active Training Institute.
In this role, she contributes to the development of future coaches, helping others strengthen their ability to support meaningful change.
Her professional development has continued alongside her work in education and coaching. Rather than treating experience as a destination, Zeena appears to approach learning as an ongoing process.
That mindset is important because the people she works with are constantly changing. Children grow, families evolve, workplaces shift and leaders face new challenges. Supporting them requires curiosity and the willingness to keep learning.
Her journey also reflects a broader movement in education and leadership, where emotional intelligence, wellbeing and human connection are increasingly recognized as essential parts of sustainable success.
A Vision Built Around Connection
Today, Zeena Al Assam’s work sits at an interesting intersection of education, coaching, nature and personal development.
From building an innovative early childhood environment to developing The Wholeness Project, her career has been shaped by a consistent question: how can people create lives and relationships that feel more connected, conscious and authentic?
The answer, for Zeena, does not appear to come from one method.
It comes from paying attention.
It comes from creating spaces where people feel safe enough to explore difficult emotions, question old patterns and discover new possibilities. It comes from understanding children as whole human beings and adults as people who also need room to learn and grow.
Most importantly, her journey shows that professional success does not always mean climbing a predictable ladder. Sometimes it means having the courage to change direction and follow a deeper sense of purpose.
For Zeena, that purpose continues to evolve through education, coaching, nature and the quiet wisdom of horses.
Her story offers a reminder that growth is not always about adding something new to our lives. Sometimes, it is about returning to ourselves and discovering what was already there.
