For Am Golhar, success has never been only about building a business or creating a recognised name.

Her journey has been shaped by creativity, ambition, challenges, reinvention and, perhaps most importantly, the search for clarity.

Today, Am is a global speaker, businesswoman, strategist and wellbeing advocate whose work has directly impacted more than 500,000 people worldwide. Through the clients and businesses she has worked with, her influence has extended even further, with their media campaigns, platforms and audiences reaching millions.

With more than two decades of experience across business, media and over 18 industries globally, Am has built brands, businesses and people across sectors including fashion, health, music, infrastructure and retail.

What makes her approach different is the combination she brings to her work: business acumen alongside wellbeing, spirituality, intuition and strategy.

For Am, success is not simply about having a plan and working harder.

It begins with understanding yourself.

And at the centre of that understanding is clarity.

Business Was Always There Before It Had a Name

Business was not a career path Am consciously set out to follow.

In many ways, it had been part of her life long before she understood what business actually meant.

From around the age of 10 or 11, she was already creating business cards and helping with invoices for her father’s business. She did it largely for fun, but the experience introduced her to the practical side of running a business at an early age.

Business was also part of her wider family environment, with her grandfather being a businessman in his own right.

By the age of 16, Am had taken her first job in a tea house.

The experience gave her an early opportunity to observe people, understand communication and learn how different personalities responded to different situations.

She later moved into a mobile phone shop, where her natural ability for sales and understanding what people wanted began to develop further.

By 17 and 18, she was already buying and selling her own stock, working out margins and turning a profit.

There was no carefully designed business strategy behind it.

It was simply something that came naturally.

Looking back, these early experiences now appear to have been the foundation for a career that would eventually span business, fashion, media, public relations, speaking and personal development.

From Central Saint Martins to Building a Global Knitwear Business

After graduating from Central Saint Martins, Am took one of the biggest steps of her early career.

At just 22, she founded her own Global Knitwear Manufacturing and Consultancy business.

The company worked across the fashion industry and supplied major names including Harrods, Topshop and Selfridges.

The experience placed Am at the intersection of creativity, manufacturing, retail and commercial strategy.

Fashion may be known for its creativity, but behind every successful collection is a complicated business process involving production, margins, supply chains, relationships, timing and customer demand.

Am learned to navigate those realities at a young age.

One of the defining chapters of her fashion career came through her involvement in the growth of the UK Christmas jumper market.

She helped pioneer the Christmas jumper boom and manufactured more than one million units for the British market.

The scale of that achievement reflected her ability to combine creative ideas with commercial execution.

For Am, business was never simply about creating something visually appealing.

It was about understanding how an idea could move from concept to production and eventually reach the market.

A Career Defined by Creativity and Opportunity

By the age of 25, Am’s work had attracted the attention of one of the most recognised names in British fashion.

She was headhunted by Burberry to build its childrenswear knitwear division.

At the same time, she continued to create opportunities of her own.

She became the first female to collaborate on an exclusive menswear collection with ASOS, adding another milestone to her career.

Her work also extended into fashion campaigns and creative projects, including appearances connected with London Fashion Week.

She was also an official hair model for Toni & Guy.

These experiences gave Am a broad understanding of the creative industries from several different perspectives.

She had experienced fashion not only as a designer or creative professional, but also through manufacturing, business development, retail, campaigns, media and branding.

That combination would later become valuable as her career expanded beyond fashion.

Building Brands, Businesses and People

After building her experience across the creative industries, Am continued developing her career in business and communications.

She went on to found Abstract PR, a creative PR and media agency designed to help individuals and businesses become more visible, credible and sought after in their industries.

The work reflected a lesson Am had learned throughout her own career.

Having a strong product, service or business is important.

But visibility also matters.

People need to understand who you are, what you represent and why your work deserves attention.

Through Abstract PR, Am has helped thousands of individuals and businesses scale, develop business models, establish personal brands and build stronger media profiles.

Her work has focused on helping people communicate their stories, increase their visibility and position themselves within their industries.

Over the years, she has worked across more than 18 industries globally.

That broad experience has allowed her to see how different sectors operate while also recognising the common challenges that people face regardless of their industry.

Whether someone is building a business, launching a personal brand or trying to become more visible, the same questions often appear.

Who are you?

What do you stand for?

What makes you different?

And how do you communicate that clearly to the world?

These questions would eventually become closely connected to Am’s wider work around clarity and personal development.

More Than Strategy Alone

What makes Am’s work different is that she does not approach people or businesses only through strategy.

Her work combines business experience with wellbeing, spirituality, intuition and an understanding of human behaviour.

It is what she describes as a 360-degree approach.

For Am, strategy is important, but strategy alone is not always enough.

A person can have a strong business plan and still struggle to make decisions.

They can have opportunities and still lack confidence.

They can build a successful company and still feel disconnected from other areas of their life.

This understanding has become central to the way Am works with people.

Her focus is not only on what someone wants to achieve professionally.

It is also about understanding the person behind the ambition.

That perspective has allowed her work to move beyond traditional business consulting.

Today, her approach brings together professional growth and personal awareness.

When Success Came With a Personal Cost

Behind Am’s achievements was another side of the story.

Like many highly ambitious people, she experienced the pressure that can come with constantly working, building and pursuing the next goal.

Over time, that pressure led to burnout.

Rather than hiding the experience, Am chose to speak openly about it.

Her TEDx talk, Success, Sacrifice and Balance, shared her personal journey with ambition and burnout on the global TED platform.

The experience became an important turning point in her life.

It forced her to question the traditional definition of success.

What does success mean if you achieve your professional goals but sacrifice your wellbeing along the way?

What happens when ambition begins to consume every other part of your life?

For Am, burnout became more than a difficult experience.

It became the foundation for a belief she now builds much of her work around.

Everyone deserves to live every aspect of their life in abundance.

And clarity is where that begins.

Why Clarity Became Central to Her Work

Following her experiences with burnout, Am began exploring new ways to understand people and the decisions they make.

She trained in human behaviour, psychometrics and clarity power coaching, deepening the tools she could bring to the people she works with.

Today, clarity sits at the centre of her philosophy.

For Am, people often know that something in their lives or businesses needs to change.

The challenge is that they may not know what the next step should be.

They may feel overwhelmed by opportunities.

They may be uncertain about their direction.

Or they may simply be disconnected from what they actually want.

Clarity can help change that.

It can help people make decisions, understand their strengths, identify what matters and move forward with greater confidence.

For Am, this process is connected to abundance.

Success should not exist only in one area of life.

Business, relationships, wellbeing, purpose and personal fulfilment should all have a place in a person’s definition of abundance.

A Voice in Media Since the Age of 15

Media has also been a major part of Am’s life.

She has been involved in media since the age of 15 and has developed into a regular voice across television, radio, podcasts and national publications.

Her media appearances include the BBC, Talk TV and national press, including publications such as Vogue, Metro and Stylist.

During lockdown, she hosted The Lock In Show on Global’s platform.

She has also appeared on podcasts across the world, including the London Fashion Week Fashion Means Business podcast.

But Am’s relationship with media is not limited to appearing in front of an audience.

She has also spent years interviewing others.

Across podcasts, interviews and platforms including Global, Am has interviewed hundreds of people from around the world.

Her conversations have included designers, human behaviour experts, leading scientists, business leaders, music artists, OBEs, business changemakers and some of the most spiritual minds globally.

This experience has added another important dimension to her work.

Interviewing people requires more than asking prepared questions.

It requires listening.

It requires understanding people.

And it requires the ability to recognise what makes someone’s story worth exploring.

These skills have helped shape Am’s ability to connect with people across different industries and backgrounds.

Taking the Stage Around the World

Speaking has become one of the most important parts of Am’s current work.

As a speaker, consultant and host, she has delivered keynotes, workshops and panel discussions to thousands of people globally.

Her speaking engagements have included platforms and organisations such as the Institute of Directors London, the Women’s Leaders Congress, the King’s Trust and some of Europe’s largest business shows.

She has also hosted panels alongside leading business figures across the United Kingdom and led the MENA Women’s Summit 2025.

Known for being articulate, insightful and able to read people, Am has developed a reputation for bringing energy and depth to conversations.

Her work as a host and speaker combines many of the skills she has developed throughout her career.

Her early experience in sales taught her how to understand people.

Fashion taught her creativity and commercial thinking.

Business taught her how to build.

Public relations taught her the importance of communication and visibility.

Media taught her how to listen and tell stories.

And her personal experiences taught her the importance of balance and self-awareness.

Together, these experiences have shaped the voice she brings to audiences today.

Supporting People Beyond the Stage

Today, Am focuses much of her energy on her signature work across consulting, speaking and hosting.

Alongside this work, she accepts a highly limited number of exclusive one-to-one engagements each year.

Her approach is built around helping people see possibilities more clearly while also understanding what is required to move toward them.

For Am, mentoring and consulting are not about simply telling someone what to do.

Every person has different strengths, challenges, ambitions and experiences.

The work begins with understanding those differences.

Her goal is to help people build businesses, strengthen their public profiles and make decisions while also remaining connected to their own wellbeing and purpose.

It is an approach shaped by the lessons she has learned throughout her own journey.

Redefining What It Means to Succeed

Am Golhar’s story is ultimately about evolution.

She began with an early instinct for business, developed her skills through sales and communication, built a global knitwear business, worked with major fashion brands, entered the media world, founded a PR agency and eventually developed into a global speaker, strategist and wellbeing advocate.

Each chapter added something new.

But perhaps the most important lessons came from the moments when success forced her to stop and reconsider what she truly wanted.

Today, Am represents a different perspective on achievement.

Ambition matters.

Business growth matters.

Visibility matters.

But so do wellbeing, intuition, spirituality, clarity and the ability to enjoy the life you are building.

Her story shows that success does not have to follow one fixed definition.

It can evolve.

For Am, the next chapter is not simply about achieving more for herself.

It is about using her experiences to help others recognise what is possible for them.

Two decades.

More than 18 industries.

More than 500,000 lives directly impacted.

Am Golhar does not simply talk about what people could achieve.

She brings together business knowledge, personal insight and practical experience to help them understand how they can move forward.

And at the centre of that work is the message that has shaped her own journey.

Before people can build the life they truly want, they must first find clarity.

Because sometimes, the most important step toward success is not doing more.

It is understanding what truly matters—and having the clarity to move toward it.
