- The Road Ahead for Asaad Saccal
Known for his involvement in business, sports and Lebanon Gulf relations, Asaad has developed a public profile that reflects a broader understanding of leadership. His work has placed him in environments where commercial interests, community relationships and sporting ambitions often meet.
Today, he serves as President of the Lebanese Kuwaiti Business Council and remains involved in the wider business community. He is also the CEO of Saccal Holding, while his experience in both football and basketball has added another dimension to his professional journey.
What makes his story particularly interesting is not simply the number of positions he has held. It is the way each experience has introduced a different form of responsibility and helped shape his approach to leadership.
From Business Foundations to Wider Influence
Business has remained one of the strongest foundations of Asaad’s career.
As CEO of Saccal Holding and Managing Director of Saccal Industries, he has taken on senior responsibilities within a business environment connected with the power generation and industrial sector.
The Saccal business story itself has deep roots. The group traces its origins to engineering and power generation activities, creating a professional environment where technical knowledge, commercial decision making and long term thinking became important parts of its identity.
For Asaad, working within this environment has provided more than a business career. It has given him direct exposure to the realities of building, managing and maintaining enterprises in markets that can change quickly.
That experience can be particularly valuable in Lebanon, where businesses have had to respond to economic uncertainty, changing market conditions and wider regional challenges.
Years ago, Asaad spoke publicly about the importance of looking beyond the local market and developing stronger export opportunities. His comments reflected a practical approach to business, focused on finding new markets and adapting to difficult conditions rather than simply waiting for circumstances to improve.
His position as CEO of Saccal Holding continues that journey, where leadership involves respecting an established business foundation while remaining ready to respond to new opportunities.
Leadership That Extends Beyond the Boardroom
Asaad’s journey demonstrates that leadership does not always remain within the boundaries of a company.
His role with the Lebanese Kuwaiti Business Council has placed him at the center of efforts to strengthen economic and commercial connections between Lebanon and Kuwait.
This responsibility has become particularly meaningful as Lebanon continues to explore partnerships with Gulf countries across investment, development, trade and reconstruction.
In October 2025, Asaad led a delegation from the Lebanese Kuwaiti Business Council in discussions with Lebanon’s Council for Development and Reconstruction. The meeting focused on cooperation and potential support for reconstruction and development projects, with particular attention given to the importance of Gulf support for Lebanon.
More recently, in July 2026, Asaad was present at an event held by Lebanon’s Housing Bank honoring Kuwait and its ambassador to Lebanon. His participation reflected the continuing role of the Lebanese Kuwaiti Business Council in supporting communication and stronger relations between the two countries.
For Asaad, business leadership therefore extends into something broader. It is also about relationships, representation and creating opportunities for cooperation between people, companies and institutions.
A Different Chapter Through Football
For many people, business and football belong to completely different worlds. For Asaad, they became connected chapters of the same leadership journey.
He previously served as President of Nejmeh Sporting Club, one of Lebanon’s best known football clubs. His years with the organization placed him in a highly visible position within Lebanese sport.
Nejmeh is more than a football team. Founded in Beirut in 1945, the club has built a strong identity within Lebanese sporting culture and developed a passionate supporter base over decades.
Asaad’s period at the club involved responsibilities that went well beyond what happens on the pitch. Managing a major sporting institution means dealing with players, administrators, supporters, partnerships, finances and the long term direction of the organization.
During his presidency, Nejmeh also explored international cooperation. The club entered into an agreement with Arsenal covering areas including academy development, coaching, administration and marketing, with Asaad directing the club’s management to follow up on the opportunities created by the cooperation.
The initiative reflected an interest in looking beyond local football and exploring how international knowledge and partnerships could contribute to the development of the club.
After four years in the role, Asaad left Nejmeh in 2022, closing an important chapter in his sporting journey.
The experience, however, added another layer to his understanding of leadership. Football brought with it public expectations, passionate supporters and the challenge of making decisions in an environment where almost every move could attract attention.
Al Riyadi and a Historic Basketball Chapter
Asaad’s involvement in Lebanese sport did not end with football.
Another major chapter began when Al Riyadi Club approached him to join the organization as President of the Board of Trustees, with a particular focus on helping support the club financially. Asaad accepted the responsibility, bringing his business experience into one of Lebanon’s most prominent basketball institutions.
The role was different from simply being a supporter of the sport. It placed him within the leadership structure of a club competing at local, regional and international levels, where financial support, institutional stability and sporting ambition had to work together.
During his presidency, Al Riyadi went through an exceptional period of sporting success. The club won the four championships it competed for during that run, including the Lebanese championship, the Dubai International Basketball Championship, the WASL championship and the Asian championship. Al Riyadi’s 2024 achievements included winning the Lebanese league, the Dubai International Basketball Championship, the FIBA West Asia Super League and Basketball Champions League Asia.
The Asian title opened another historic door for the club. Al Riyadi qualified for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, becoming the first Lebanese team to participate in the competition and giving the club its first opportunity to compete on that world club stage.
For Asaad, that period represented more than a collection of trophies. It showed what can happen when sporting ambition is supported by organization, financial commitment and a clear institutional structure.
It also gave him experience in another form of leadership. Basketball operates differently from football, but the pressure surrounding major clubs remains similar. Supporters expect results, athletes need the right environment to perform, and leadership decisions can influence both immediate performance and the future stability of the institution.
What Sport Added to His Leadership Journey
Moving from business into football and basketball exposed Asaad to responsibilities that are difficult to experience inside a traditional corporate environment.
Business decisions are often made through financial analysis, planning and long term strategy. Sport adds another dimension because emotion, identity and public expectations are constantly present.
A club is not simply an organization. It represents something personal to its supporters. Wins and losses are experienced emotionally, while leadership decisions can quickly become topics of public discussion.
That environment requires patience, communication and the ability to make difficult decisions while remaining focused on the institution itself.
Asaad’s experience with both Nejmeh and Al Riyadi gave him the opportunity to understand these pressures from inside two major Lebanese sporting organizations.
It also demonstrated that business experience can contribute to sport in practical ways. Financial planning, partnerships, institutional organization and long term thinking can all play important roles in helping clubs compete at a higher level.
Learning From Pressure and Change
A meaningful leadership story is rarely made only of achievements.
The more interesting journeys also contain pressure, difficult decisions and moments when circumstances do not develop exactly as expected.
Asaad’s career has moved through business, football, basketball and international economic relations, giving him exposure to very different forms of responsibility.
His years in sport, in particular, demonstrated how quickly leadership can move between success and scrutiny. A championship can create celebration, while a difficult decision can create debate only days later.
Such experiences can change the way a person approaches responsibility.
Leadership is not simply about being present when everything works. It is also about remaining involved when circumstances become complicated, accepting accountability and understanding that long term credibility is built through more than a single achievement.
Building Bridges Between Lebanon and Kuwait
Today, one of the most significant parts of Asaad’s public role is his work connecting Lebanese and Kuwaiti business interests.
The Lebanese Kuwaiti Business Council provides a platform for business leaders to discuss cooperation, investment and economic opportunities between the two countries.
As President, Asaad has increasingly participated in discussions connected with Lebanon’s economic future and its relationship with Kuwait and the wider Gulf region.
This responsibility gives his professional journey another layer. Rather than concentrating only on the companies he manages, he is also participating in conversations about broader commercial relationships and opportunities for cooperation.
For Lebanon, maintaining strong connections with Kuwait and other Gulf countries can open discussions around investment, partnerships, trade and development.
For business leaders, however, these relationships cannot be built through meetings alone. They depend heavily on credibility, communication and trust developed over time.
Asaad’s experience in business, combined with his involvement across the Gulf region, allows him to operate within an environment where relationships can be just as important as commercial opportunities.
A Public Image Shaped by More Than Titles
Asaad’s public presence also reflects the different worlds that have shaped his journey.
His profile includes business meetings, sporting experiences, travel and public engagements, but those moments represent only a small part of the responsibilities behind each position.
Leadership can often look simple from the outside. A photograph from a championship, boardroom or official meeting captures a few seconds. It does not show the planning, difficult conversations, financial commitments or decisions that happened before that moment.
That distinction is important when looking at Asaad’s career.
His journey is not simply a collection of titles such as CEO, club president or council president. Each position has placed him in a different environment and required him to understand a new set of expectations.
Business demanded commercial judgment. Football brought public pressure and institutional responsibility. Basketball combined financial support with sporting ambition. His current work in Lebanon Kuwait relations requires diplomacy, trust and the ability to bring different interests together.
Together, those experiences have created a leadership journey that cannot easily be placed into a single category.
The Road Ahead for Asaad Saccal
Asaad Saccal’s journey continues to evolve.
His leadership of the Lebanese Kuwaiti Business Council places him in an important position as Lebanon continues developing economic relationships with Kuwait and the wider Gulf. His role as CEO of Saccal Holding keeps him connected to the business world that formed the foundation of his professional career.
At the same time, his experiences with Nejmeh and Al Riyadi remain important chapters in his story. Football taught him about managing a major sporting institution under intense public attention, while basketball brought a period that included major championships and a historic first appearance for Al Riyadi on the world club stage.
For younger entrepreneurs and aspiring leaders, his journey offers an interesting perspective. A career does not always have to remain inside one industry or follow one predictable direction.
Sometimes a wider understanding of leadership comes from moving between different environments, accepting unfamiliar responsibilities and learning what each experience can teach.
From industry and entrepreneurship to football, basketball and Lebanon Gulf business relations, Asaad Saccal has built a career shaped by involvement, responsibility and a willingness to step into different roles when opportunities arise.
His story shows that leadership is ultimately about more than the position written beside someone’s name. It is about what a person contributes when responsibility is placed in their hands.
