From Pharmacy to Entrepreneurship
At 16, Aylin Khormali was sent to Europe to study pharmacy. Like many young people whose futures are shaped by family expectations, she followed a path that appeared secure, respected and practical.
She went on to earn her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and graduate among the top students in her class. She later worked as a pharmacist, building the kind of professional career that many would consider a clear definition of success.
But Aylin began to question whether a secure career was enough.
The turning point came when her father became seriously ill while living in another country. Because of the demands of her work, she could not simply leave everything behind to be with him. His passing became one of the most painful experiences of her life, but it also changed the way she viewed time, work and ambition.
She began to understand that success means little if a person does not have the freedom to be present for the people who matter most.
That realization eventually pushed her toward entrepreneurship.
Four Failed Businesses Before a Breakthrough
Aylin’s entrepreneurial story was not built on instant success.
Before finding a business model that worked, she experienced failure four times.
For someone who had already achieved academically and professionally, those failures could have been reasons to stop. Instead, they became part of her education.
Her fifth venture, an e-commerce business she launched with her husband, changed the direction of her career. It gave her the opportunity to understand online commerce, sales, customer behavior and the systems required to grow a business.
Her experience also taught her an important lesson. Entrepreneurship is not simply about having an idea. It requires resilience, learning, adaptation and the willingness to continue when the first plan does not work.
That mindset became central to everything she built afterward.
Aylin Khormali Building a Business Beyond the Seven Figure Mark
After gaining experience through e-commerce, Aylin moved into education and consulting.
The business grew rapidly, eventually reaching more than $1 million in monthly cash collected and $17.4 million in reported total revenue according to her own account of the journey.
She eventually sold the education business to private investors.
On paper, the achievement represented everything an ambitious entrepreneur could hope for. The business was successful, financial freedom became possible and Aylin was able to experience a lifestyle she had once imagined for herself.
Yet another transformation was waiting.
When Success No Longer Felt Like Enough
One of the most revealing chapters of Aylin’s story happened after she had achieved many of her financial goals.
She remembers sitting on a beach in Barcelona, surrounded by the lifestyle she had worked so hard to create. She had freedom, travel and access to many of the things she once believed would make her happy.
Instead, she felt empty.
That moment forced her to look beyond financial achievement.
Aylin realized that building a successful company was not the final destination. She wanted her work to have meaning. She wanted the skills, lessons and experiences she had gained through years of entrepreneurship to help other women create opportunities for themselves.
This realization eventually became the foundation for Her Last Empire.
A New Mission Focused on Women
Today, Aylin’s biggest ambition is centered on women who want to become independent and build something of their own.
Her vision is not limited to helping women make money. She wants them to develop confidence, ownership and the ability to create a future on their own terms.
Through Her Last Empire, she is building a platform around entrepreneurship, personal growth, wealth and purpose.
The idea reflects a major shift in her own journey. Earlier in her career, success was measured largely through professional achievement and financial results. Today, she places greater emphasis on impact.
Her goal is to eventually empower at least one million women to build their own businesses, create greater financial independence and use their success to positively influence others.
Lessons Shaped by Loss and Experience
Aylin’s approach to business is strongly connected to the personal lessons she has collected along the way.
One of her strongest beliefs is the importance of staying connected to God not only during difficult periods, but also during moments of success. Gratitude, she believes, should remain present when life is going well.
Her father’s influence also continues to shape her thinking.
A lesson she carries with her is the belief that doing something good for another person can eventually create a positive ripple effect. For Aylin, success is not only about what a person receives, but also about what they give.
She also believes in exceeding expectations.
Her philosophy of underpromising and overdelivering has become part of the way she approaches business relationships, clients and opportunities. Rather than simply meeting expectations, she believes entrepreneurs should consistently aim to provide greater value.
Another lesson came from building companies with partners.
Aylin believes entrepreneurs do not need partners who are identical to them. Instead, the strongest partnerships often come from people whose skills complement one another. Different strengths can create a more complete leadership team and allow businesses to move faster.
She also emphasizes emotional discipline.
In business, difficult situations can create pressure and strong emotional reactions. Her advice is to pause before responding, create distance from the immediate situation and make decisions after looking at the facts objectively.
More Than Numbers on a Résumé
Aylin’s achievements include speaking seven languages, earning a PharmD degree, working professionally as a pharmacist and becoming a high performing sales professional before entering entrepreneurship.
Her business journey later expanded into e-commerce, education, consulting and online entrepreneurship.
She has also developed a strong interest in teaching others how to create digital businesses. Her entrepreneurial education work has reached aspiring business owners across different countries, reinforcing her belief that online business can create opportunities beyond traditional career paths.
Yet she does not view revenue figures as the most important part of her story.
For Aylin, the numbers are evidence of what persistence, learning and execution can create. The deeper achievement is having the freedom to decide what she wants to build next.
The Future Is About Impact and Legacy
The next chapter of Aylin Khormali’s journey is increasingly focused on legacy.
She wants to build a life centered around family, love, purpose and meaningful impact. She also wants to create a future that would make her late father proud.
Her ambition is therefore becoming bigger than another company or financial milestone.
She wants to help women recognize abilities they may have overlooked in themselves and give them the confidence to turn those abilities into businesses, careers and independent lives.
That vision reflects how dramatically her definition of success has changed.
The young woman who once followed a carefully planned path into pharmacy eventually became an entrepreneur who failed, rebuilt, scaled businesses and achieved financial freedom. But perhaps the most important part of her story is what happened after she reached those goals.
She discovered that success without purpose could still feel incomplete.
Today, Aylin is using everything she learned from failure, business, loss and achievement to pursue a different kind of success. One measured not only by revenue, but by the number of women who become stronger, more confident and more independent because of the work she chooses to do.
Her journey is still unfolding, but the direction is clear. Aylin Khormali is no longer simply building businesses. She is working toward building a legacy of empowered women who can create something of their own and, in turn, help others do the same.
