From Childhood Curiosity to a Passion for Movement
For Shaikha AlTukhaim, fitness did not begin with a carefully planned career path. It started much earlier, in a family where movement was simply part of everyday life.

- A Journey That Started With a Jab and a Cross
As a child, she remembers watching her father train and trying to pick up his dumbbells, even though she had little idea what she was doing. At the time, it was simply curiosity. Years later, that curiosity would become a major part of her identity.
Her introduction to structured training came during high school, when her older sister encouraged her to try the gym. The experience was not immediately comfortable. Walking into a gym surrounded by people who appeared confident and experienced made her feel like she did not belong.
Then she discovered boxing.
One session quickly became something much more meaningful. Learning the basics of a jab and a cross gave Shaikha a sense of focus and excitement that she had not expected. Boxing was not simply another workout. It became something she wanted to return to.
Boxing Became Her Reset Button
When Shaikha moved to San Diego, her fitness journey expanded in new directions. She began training in CrossFit and continued exploring different approaches to strength and movement.
After moving downtown, she made a discovery that would have a lasting effect on her journey. The Boxing Club was located directly below where she lived.
The convenience was almost too perfect to ignore, but it was the atmosphere that made the difference.
She connected with the people, the energy, and the discipline that surrounded boxing. Training became a way to step away from academic pressure and everyday responsibilities.
Whether she was preparing for exams, working through presentations, or adjusting to life abroad, putting on her boxing gloves offered a simple form of escape.
For Shaikha, the gym became a place where the outside world could temporarily disappear.
That relationship with movement would eventually shape the way she approached fitness as a career.
Education Gave Her Another Dimension
Shaikha’s journey has never been limited to sport.
She graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Management. She later moved to Miami to pursue a master’s degree in International Business at the University of Miami.
Her time in the United States continued to expose her to different fitness environments and training philosophies. In Miami, she trained at places such as BOXR while becoming increasingly interested in mobility, performance, and the way people move.
Rather than treating fitness as something separate from her professional life, Shaikha allowed the two worlds to develop alongside each other.
Her academic background gave her experience in communication, management, and business, while fitness taught her discipline, consistency, and the importance of showing up.
That combination would later become one of the strongest parts of her professional identity.
Learning Became Part of the Journey
As her interest in fitness grew, so did her desire to understand it properly.
Shaikha began collecting certifications in areas including boxing coaching, mobility, and strength and conditioning in the United States. For her, certification was not simply about adding another qualification to her profile.
She genuinely enjoyed learning.
The more she understood about movement and performance, the more she wanted to help other people experience the same confidence that fitness had given her.
When she returned to Kuwait, the original plan was simple. She would coach for three months.
The three months became something much bigger.
Shaikha found herself enjoying the process of watching people become stronger, move with greater confidence, and discover abilities they had previously underestimated.
She did not wake up one morning and decide to become a fitness coach. Instead, the career developed naturally from something she already loved.
Beast Boxer Became More Than a Name
What started as the name of Shaikha’s social media account eventually developed into something much more recognizable.
People began calling her Beast Boxer.
Over time, the name became associated with her approach to fitness and the community she was building around it.
The growth of Beast Boxer reflects an important part of Shaikha’s journey. She was not trying to build a conventional fitness personality simply for visibility. Her focus remained on sharing activities she genuinely enjoyed and encouraging others to become more active.
That authenticity helped the name develop into a brand.
Today, Shaikha’s fitness identity sits at the intersection of coaching, community, lifestyle, and content. It is a reflection of her personal journey rather than a carefully manufactured image.
Turning Fitness Into Community
One of the clearest examples of Shaikha’s approach came through The Walk.
Created during a period when many people were not going to gyms, The Walk was built around a straightforward idea. Get people moving again and give them an opportunity to do it together.
But for Shaikha, movement has always been about more than the physical activity itself.
She values team spirit and connection, so The Walk gradually became a community experience rather than simply a walk.
The project reflected her belief that fitness can become more sustainable when people feel that they are part of something.
It does not always have to be about competition or performance. Sometimes, simply having people around you can be enough motivation to keep going.
Creating Opportunities for the Next Generation
Shaikha’s vision also extends beyond adults.
Her summer program, Level Up, was created for children and has become one of the projects closest to her heart.
She believes young people are surrounded by countless influences, and sport can be one of the most positive ones.
For Shaikha, introducing children to movement is not only about teaching them exercises. It is about helping them build confidence, discipline, character, and a healthier relationship with their bodies.
She understands that a small positive experience during childhood can stay with someone for years.
That belief gives her work with young people a deeper purpose.
A Career That Connects Fitness and Business
Shaikha’s professional achievements also extend into the wider business and innovation community in Kuwait.
After joining the Public Authority for Youth as a PR Specialist, she was trusted with project management responsibilities early in her role. Her experience later developed through KDSC, Kuwait Digital Startup Campus, where she became a co founder and represented the program through public speaking opportunities.
Her appearance in conversations surrounding the KDSC pitch competition also reflects the way her interests have expanded beyond fitness into entrepreneurship and innovation.
Her career therefore does not fit neatly into one category.
She has experience in communications, business, startups, public speaking, fitness, coaching, and community building.
Instead of choosing one identity, Shaikha has allowed each experience to influence the next.
The Captain of Her Own Journey
One of the biggest lessons Shaikha has taken from her journey is that individuals ultimately have to take responsibility for their own progress.
People can offer guidance, encouragement, and inspiration, but the decision to keep showing up belongs to the individual.
That mindset is visible in the way she approaches fitness.
Strength is not only about lifting heavier weights or improving physical performance. It is also about developing the confidence to take ownership of your choices.
For Shaikha, fitness is about feeling strong, capable, confident, and comfortable in your own body.
Looking Beyond the Traditional Gym
While many people assume Shaikha’s next step would be opening her own gym, that is not necessarily where she sees her future.
Her ambition is broader.
She wants to bring people, coaches, ideas, and experiences together. Her vision includes workshops, collaborations, and opportunities that can connect Kuwait with the international fitness community.
She sees potential in bringing international coaches and concepts to Kuwait while also helping showcase what is being created locally to audiences beyond the country’s borders.
It is a vision built around exchange rather than isolation.
For Shaikha, the future of fitness is not simply about having another place to train. It is about creating experiences that make people want to participate, learn, connect, and grow.
A Journey That Started With a Jab and a Cross
Shaikha AlTukhaim’s story is a reminder that careers do not always begin with a perfect plan.
Sometimes they begin with curiosity.
Sometimes they begin with trying something that feels uncomfortable.
And sometimes they begin with a single boxing session.
From picking up her father’s dumbbells as a child to training across San Diego and Miami, earning international qualifications, building Beast Boxer, creating The Walk, developing Level Up, and exploring opportunities across fitness and entrepreneurship, Shaikha has continued to follow the same principle.
Keep learning. Keep moving. Keep showing up.
Her journey is still developing, but the direction is clear. She wants fitness to become part of everyday life, while using sport to create confidence, connection, and opportunities for the next generation.
What began with a jab and a cross has grown into a much bigger purpose. For Shaikha, the real goal is not simply to make people fitter. It is to help them discover how strong and capable they can become.
