From Banking to Building a Powerful Business Vision

Some successful careers begin with a clear plan, while others develop through unexpected opportunities and bold decisions. For Dr. Hala Wahba, the journey from banking to entrepreneurship has been shaped by experience, determination, and a strong belief in meaningful communication.

Today, Hala is the Founder and CEO of For Impact Group, a strategic communications, public relations, and digital marketing consultancy based in Egypt. With more than two decades of experience in strategic communications and PR, she has developed an approach that combines business knowledge with creative storytelling.

Her journey reflects an important lesson. Success is not always about following one path. Sometimes, it comes from having the courage to explore new possibilities while staying connected to your values.

The Early Experiences That Shaped Her Leadership

Before entering the world of public relations, Hala spent 13 years working in banking. During this period, she gained valuable experience in corporate communications, customer relationships, stakeholder engagement, and business operations.

Working in a structured financial environment taught her how organizations function and why trust is essential for long-term success.

However, her professional ambitions gradually moved toward strategic communications.

She later joined CC Plus, where she spent seven years as Managing Director. This chapter strengthened her leadership abilities and expanded her understanding of reputation management, brand positioning, and integrated communications.

Rather than viewing these career transitions as separate experiences, Hala used each stage to develop a broader understanding of business, communication, and leadership.

How For Impact Group Became Her Entrepreneurial Milestone

After years of working across different industries, Hala recognized an opportunity to create something of her own.

She established For Impact Group, known as FIG, with a vision of helping businesses communicate with greater clarity, authenticity, and purpose.

The consultancy supports emerging brands by developing their strategic foundations, market positioning, identities, and distinctive stories.

For established businesses, FIG focuses on repositioning brands to meet changing consumer expectations while protecting their original values and heritage.

Hala believes that effective communication requires more than attractive campaigns or online visibility.

It begins with understanding what makes a business valuable and communicating that message consistently.

Through FIG, she continues helping organizations connect business objectives with meaningful brand experiences.

Qalam and Mic: Creating Conversations That Truly Matter

While building FIG represented an important entrepreneurial achievement, Hala wanted to create another platform with a different purpose.

This ambition led to Qalam & Mic, a thought leadership and storytelling initiative designed to connect experienced professionals, industry leaders, innovators, and younger generations.

The platform encourages conversations that promote learning, understanding, and collaboration.

For Hala, storytelling is not simply about sharing personal experiences. It is also about creating opportunities for people to exchange knowledge and discover new perspectives.

Qalam & Mic has gradually developed into a platform exploring subjects that influence individuals, industries, and communities.

Its growing journey demonstrates how meaningful conversations can bring people together beyond professional backgrounds or generations.

Four Seasons That Reflect Her Commitment to Impact

Each season of Qalam & Mic has explored a different subject while maintaining the platform’s commitment to purposeful dialogue.

The first season focused on wellbeing and was hosted by Sarah Ahmed, with support from SCE at the British University in Egypt and Mawada Foundation. Contributions from Dr. Lamise Negm and Dr. Mohamed El Okaby helped encourage important conversations between professionals and younger audiences.

The second season explored art and culture through ten episodes hosted by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Dayem. With the British Council as knowledge partner, the season celebrated creative expression and cultural exchange.

The third season, Made in Egypt, highlighted Egyptian industries, local businesses, and talented individuals contributing to the country’s economic identity. GOHAR Industrial and Trading Company supported this initiative.

The fourth season will focus on learning, empowerment, and employment.

Hosted by Dr. Galal ElSheikh, it aims to connect educational institutions, employers, professionals, and emerging talent.

An educational partnership with the Faculty of Communication and Mass Media at the British University in Egypt, led by Dean Prof. Adel Saleh, supports this mission.

The Challenges Behind Building Something Meaningful

Moving from an established corporate career into entrepreneurship requires confidence, patience, and the willingness to embrace uncertainty.

For Hala, one of the most important lessons has been understanding that professional growth demands continuous evolution.

Her experience across banking, public relations, and digital communications has shown her that strategies must change as industries and audiences develop.

She also recognizes that meaningful achievements rarely happen alone.

Building FIG and developing Qalam & Mic have reinforced the importance of collaboration, shared values, and trusted relationships.

Instead of measuring progress only through commercial results, Hala considers the opportunities created for others an equally important measure of success.

The Leadership Philosophy That Guides Her Success

Hala approaches leadership with a philosophy centered on purpose, authenticity, and adaptability.

Her guiding motto captures this belief.

“Build with purpose, communicate with impact, and never stop evolving.”

These words reflect how she approaches entrepreneurship and professional relationships.

She believes strong leadership involves listening to different perspectives, recognizing the strengths of others, and creating environments where knowledge can be shared.

Her work also highlights the importance of connecting established expertise with emerging talent.

By encouraging collaboration between generations, Hala hopes to create opportunities where experience inspires innovation and new ideas encourage progress.

Dr. Hala Wahba’s Vision for the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

Looking ahead, Hala aims to expand FIG’s strategic brand building services while developing Qalam & Mic into a broader platform for industry collaboration and knowledge exchange.

She is particularly passionate about connecting education with employment opportunities and encouraging businesses to invest in emerging professionals.

Her advice to entrepreneurs is to build strong foundations before focusing on recognition.

She encourages young professionals to continue learning, develop practical skills, and seek guidance from experienced leaders.

At the same time, she believes established professionals have a responsibility to share knowledge and create opportunities for others.

For Hala, the future is about building connections that generate lasting value.

Her journey demonstrates that successful entrepreneurship is not simply about creating a business. It is about developing a vision that continues to inspire people, strengthen industries, and make a meaningful difference.

A Legacy Built on Purpose and Meaningful Connections

From her early banking career to leading FIG and developing Qalam & Mic, Hala has consistently embraced opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute.

Her achievements reflect a leadership journey shaped by strategic thinking, creativity, resilience, and collaboration.

Rather than chasing visibility alone, she remains focused on building brands that earn trust and conversations that encourage progress.

As her initiatives continue evolving, Hala’s ambition remains clear: to connect people, ideas, and industries through communication that creates genuine impact.

Her story offers an inspiring reminder that the strongest professional legacies are built not only through individual success, but through the opportunities we create for others.
