New Era of Natural Skin Health
Success is rarely defined by a single moment. While many first came to know Rachel Millns as Miss Universe New Zealand, the chapter that has shaped her most has unfolded far from the spotlight.
Today, Rachel is the founder of Simplicitè Skin Clinic on the Kapiti Coast, where she has built a reputation for blending advanced skin knowledge with a deeply restorative approach to facial wellness. Her work goes beyond skincare. It is about helping people reconnect with themselves, understand their skin, and feel confident in their own natural beauty.
For Rachel, beauty has evolved from something that is seen to something that is felt.
“To me, beauty is about learning to love and accept yourself. We’re often our own harshest critics. Confidence doesn’t come from perfection – it comes from caring for yourself, both internally and externally, and feeling comfortable in your own skin.”
A Personal Journey That Sparked a Purpose
Rachel’s passion for skin health began long before she ever opened the doors to Simplicitè.
As a teenager, she struggled with severe acne. Like many people navigating problematic skin, she understood the emotional impact it could have on confidence and self-esteem. It was an experience that shaped not only her relationship with skincare but also the way she would eventually care for others.
Rather than searching for quick fixes, she became fascinated by understanding how the skin functions, why it changes, and how healthy skin can be achieved through education, consistency and evidence-informed care.
That curiosity eventually became her purpose.
Life Beyond the Pageant Stage
Representing New Zealand internationally was an unforgettable experience and one Rachel is grateful for. It opened doors, introduced her to incredible people and gave her the confidence to step outside her comfort zone.
But she always knew she wanted to build something lasting.
Instead of allowing a title to define her future, she chose to create a career built on trust, knowledge and meaningful relationships. She invested in education, refined her skills and gradually transformed her passion for skin health into a thriving business centred around personalised care.
“I’ve always believed that success isn’t about where you begin – it’s about having the courage to keep evolving.”
Building Simplicitè With Intention
Now celebrating six years in business, Simplicitè has intentionally evolved from a traditional beauty clinic into a destination for advanced skin health, facial wellness and sculptural facial therapy.
Rachel believes every face and every skin journey is unique. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions or chasing passing trends, every treatment is thoughtfully tailored to the individual.
Education forms the foundation of every consultation, empowering clients with the knowledge to confidently care for their skin long after they leave the treatment room.
This client-first philosophy has earned Rachel something she values above all else: trust.
A Different Philosophy on Ageing
As aesthetic medicine continues to evolve, Rachel has become increasingly passionate about treatments that work with the body rather than against it.
Her fascination with sculptural facial therapy led her to undertake advanced international training, learning from world-leading educators to refine techniques that support healthy ageing through facial massage, muscle release and improved skin function.
Rather than changing someone’s features, Rachel believes in enhancing what already exists.
“I don’t want people to leave looking like someone else. I want them to leave looking like themselves – just healthier, more rested and more confident.”
She sees sculptural facial therapy as both an alternative and a complementary approach to aesthetic treatments, offering clients natural rejuvenation while preserving their individuality.
Sometimes Less Really Is More
One of the biggest misconceptions Rachel encounters is the belief that more products automatically produce better skin.
In reality, she believes the opposite is often true.
“Sometimes less is more. It’s not about using everything – it’s about using the right ingredients, for the right skin, at the right time.”
Her philosophy encourages clients to step away from overwhelming routines and instead focus on consistency, education and treatments that genuinely support long-term skin health.
More Than a Facial
While visible results are important, Rachel believes the experience is equally valuable.
In a world where people are constantly rushing from one commitment to the next, she has intentionally created a space where clients are encouraged to slow down.
Every treatment is designed to offer permission to pause—to release tension held within the face and body, restore hydration, calm the nervous system and reconnect with themselves.
Rachel wants every client to leave feeling not only refreshed, but lighter, more relaxed and better equipped to care for their skin with confidence.
Continuing to Learn, Continuing to Grow
Rachel credits much of her growth to her willingness to remain a student.
Whether travelling overseas for advanced training or stepping outside her comfort zone to learn new techniques, she believes investing in education is one of the greatest investments a practitioner can make.
That commitment ensures her clients benefit from the latest knowledge while receiving care that remains thoughtful, personalised and grounded in genuine expertise.
Looking Ahead
As Simplicitè continues to evolve, Rachel’s vision is clear: to create a destination for facial wellness where skin health, sculptural facial therapy and education come together in a truly holistic experience.
While her journey began on a global stage, it is the quiet moments inside the treatment room that have become the most meaningful.
Helping someone regain confidence after years of struggling with their skin. Watching tension melt from a client’s face. Seeing people leave standing a little taller than when they arrived.
For Rachel, these are the moments that define success.
Her story is a reminder that beauty isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about understanding yourself, caring for yourself and embracing what makes you uniquely you.
As she continues to grow Simplicitè, Rachel remains committed to helping people achieve healthy skin, experience the restorative power of touch and discover that confidence begins not with perfection, but with self-acceptance.
