With more than 26 years of experience across luxury hotels, restaurants, catering operations and foodservice innovation, Elie has built a career that reaches far beyond the traditional kitchen. His journey has taken him from Beirut to Dubai and across the wider MENA culinary landscape, where he has developed concepts, led large culinary teams, participated in major competitions and helped other professionals sharpen their craft.
Today, as a Culinary Advisor at Nestlé Professional, Elie works closely with chefs, operators and foodservice professionals on menu development, culinary demonstrations, product applications, training and innovation. His career reflects a continuous evolution from hands-on cooking to strategic culinary leadership.
A Career That Began With Curiosity
Elie’s entry into hospitality was not the result of a family tradition in cooking. In fact, his first connection with the profession came from something much simpler.
A hospitality school was located just one minute from his home in Lebanon. He often noticed students walking in and out wearing chef uniforms and carrying knife bags. That sight sparked his curiosity.
After finishing high school, Elie was also looking for an education that could help him build a future while contributing to his family during a financially challenging period. Hospitality school offered that opportunity. He could study, work in the evenings, earn an income and gradually develop a professional path.
His twin brother, who had joined the school before him, also influenced his decision. What initially began as curiosity soon became something much deeper.
Once Elie entered the professional kitchen, he discovered a world where creativity, discipline, teamwork and constant learning came together. Cooking stopped being simply a way to earn a living and became a genuine passion.
That early decision would eventually become the foundation of a career spanning more than two decades.
From Beirut Kitchens to International Hospitality
Elie began his professional career in 2001 and later graduated from Hospitality Kitchen and Pastry Arts with honours. His early experience included French cuisine and well-known restaurant concepts such as Le Bistro de Beirut and Entrecôte de Paris.
His career then expanded through opportunities with Buddha Bar, Le Royal Hotel Beirut and Le Noir Motion Lounge. Each position exposed him to different styles of service, cuisines, teams and operational challenges.
These experiences helped Elie understand that being a chef was not only about preparing food. It was also about managing people, maintaining standards, understanding guests and delivering consistency under pressure.
His progression continued into executive culinary leadership, eventually taking him to Dubai and larger hospitality operations.
In 2013, Elie joined Cedar Dining Hospitality Management as an Executive Chef, where he led a large culinary team and worked across multiple outlets, a central kitchen and significant catering operations. Later, he became part of the pre-opening team at Metropolitan Boutique Hotel under Habtoor Hospitality Group.
He subsequently worked with Nassima Royal Hotel, which transitioned into voco Dubai under IHG management. These roles placed him at the centre of complex culinary operations involving multiple outlets, banqueting, room service, events and large teams.
Public profiles and hospitality publications have documented this progression from Beirut restaurants to major UAE hospitality operations, reflecting the breadth of Elie’s professional experience.
The Move From Kitchen Leadership to Culinary Innovation
A major turning point came when Elie moved from hotel operations into a corporate culinary environment.
Today, at Nestlé Professional, his role combines culinary knowledge with foodservice strategy. His responsibilities include recipe development, menu solutions, culinary demonstrations, chef training, product applications and innovation projects.
This is a different kind of kitchen leadership.
Instead of focusing on one restaurant or hotel, Elie works with professionals across the region, helping them think about food from both a creative and operational perspective.
His work involves understanding what chefs actually need in professional kitchens. Consistency, efficiency, scalability and creativity all have to work together.
Nestlé Professional has also featured Elie through culinary recipes and chef-focused content, including his interpretation of a crusted Angus beef filet using professional foodservice solutions.
As Elie explains through his professional philosophy, innovation should never mean losing the fundamentals of cooking.
“Great cooking is not only about creating something new. It is about knowing how to respect the ingredient, master the technique and give people an experience they remember.”
That balance between innovation and fundamentals has become an important part of his professional identity.
Leadership That Starts With the Team
For Elie, one of the most meaningful achievements of his career is not a particular award.
It is the respect he has earned from the people he has worked with.
His leadership philosophy is straightforward. A leader should not stand above the team. A leader should stand with the team.
That approach has shaped the way he manages culinary professionals and approaches high-pressure environments.
Over the years, Elie has led teams through competitions and major hospitality operations. His career profile highlights numerous awards and competition achievements, while more recent professional recognition has also placed him among prominent culinary leaders in the Middle East.
In 2026, Elie publicly shared recognition as MENA Most Popular Chef of the Year and among the 30 Best Chef Leaders in the Middle East. He credited colleagues, mentors, partners and his Nestlé Professional team for contributing to the achievement.
For Elie, recognition is therefore not simply about personal achievement. It represents the collective effort behind every successful kitchen.
Competitions, Mentorship and Developing Talent
Another important part of Elie’s journey is his involvement in culinary competitions.
He has led teams to significant competition success and has also served as a judge at culinary competitions in locations including the UAE, Armenia and Oman. His experience judging competitions has given him another perspective on what separates technical skill from true culinary potential.
His involvement with chef competitions also connects directly with his broader interest in mentorship.
Elie believes young chefs entering the industry today face a very different professional environment from the one he experienced at the beginning of his career.
Technology, changing consumer expectations, new food trends and evolving restaurant models are reshaping hospitality.
Yet he believes some fundamentals should remain unchanged: discipline, craftsmanship, teamwork, continuous learning, respect for ingredients and passion.
Nestlé Professional has also involved Elie in chef competitions and judging panels, including the Golden Chefs Hat Awards, where he has assessed dishes alongside other culinary professionals.
A Vision Focused on the Next Generation
Today, Elie’s ambitions extend beyond creating dishes or developing menus.
He wants to help develop people.
His focus is increasingly connected to the next generation of chefs and culinary professionals who will shape the industry over the coming decades.
For Elie, mentorship is about helping young chefs build strong foundations before they chase titles. It is about encouraging them to learn from difficult experiences, find their own culinary identity and understand that professional growth takes time.
He also places strong value on mentors and professional relationships. Throughout his career, he has seen how meaningful connections can open doors, create opportunities and provide knowledge that cannot always be learned from a textbook.
His advice to aspiring chefs is therefore simple: stay curious, remain disciplined, find good mentors and never stop learning.
Elie Lteif Building a Legacy Beyond the Plate
After more than 26 years in hospitality, Elie Lteif’s story is no longer simply about becoming a successful chef.
It is about evolution.
He began with curiosity outside a hospitality school in Lebanon. He developed his craft in Beirut kitchens, moved through international restaurant concepts and luxury hotels, took responsibility for major culinary operations in Dubai and eventually stepped into a regional advisory role.
Along the way, competitions, awards, leadership opportunities and industry recognition became milestones.
But the bigger story is the progression from cooking for guests to helping shape the people, menus and systems behind the foodservice industry.
Elie continues to work at the intersection of culinary creativity, operational knowledge and professional development. His journey demonstrates that a chef’s career can grow far beyond the kitchen without losing its connection to the craft that started it all.
For the next generation, his message remains clear. A successful culinary career is built slowly, through every kitchen, every mentor, every challenge and every lesson.
The final dish may be what guests see.
But behind it is a lifetime of discipline, learning, teamwork and passion.
