Builds a New Era of Family Entertainment

Salil Kumar Malik has spent nearly two decades learning how premium brands are built, expanded and remembered. His career has moved across luxury leather goods, footwear, retail and, more recently, family entertainment. Yet the common thread has remained consistent: creating businesses where quality, thoughtful design and customer experience come before short term trends.

Today, Salil is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Boo Boo Laand, a luxury family entertainment concept born in Dubai and now entering an important period of international expansion. He also holds a leadership role at Da Milano and is the Founder of premium footwear and accessories brand Rosso Brunello. Together, these ventures reveal an entrepreneur who has gradually transformed years of retail experience into a wider vision for experience-led consumer businesses.

Learning the Business of Luxury

Salil’s business journey was shaped by both education and practical experience. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in International Marketing in London, he joined Da Milano in 2007 and became closely involved with the expansion of the family business.

Working within premium retail gave him an understanding of something that would later become central to his entrepreneurial philosophy. Luxury is not created by price alone. It comes from consistency, presentation, service, attention to detail and the way customers feel when interacting with a brand.

Three years later, Salil took another significant entrepreneurial step.

In 2010, he founded Rosso Brunello, building the premium footwear and accessories label while developing deeper experience in brand creation, retail operations and business growth.

These years provided more than commercial experience. They helped Salil understand how consumers connect emotionally with premium businesses, knowledge that would eventually influence a completely different category.

Finding an Opportunity Beyond Traditional Retail

After years in fashion and luxury retail, Salil identified an opportunity in family entertainment.

The question was not simply whether another indoor play space could succeed. It was whether family entertainment could be approached with the same attention to experience, design, hospitality and detail normally associated with premium consumer brands.

That thinking became Boo Boo Laand.

Co-founded in 2023, the concept was designed to move beyond the traditional indoor play model by bringing imaginative play, hospitality, dining and celebrations together within one immersive environment.

The idea was particularly relevant in Dubai, a market where consumers already have access to some of the world’s most ambitious leisure and hospitality experiences.

For Salil, competing in that environment required more than creating something visually impressive. It required understanding families.

As he has written about his approach to entrepreneurship, listening before building matters. Instead of focusing only on spectacle or scale, his philosophy places purpose, empathy and emotional connection at the centre of the experience.

Building Boo Boo Laand Around Childhood Wonder

Boo Boo Laand’s Dubai destination demonstrates how that philosophy translates into reality.

The Dubai Mall venue spans approximately 25,000 square feet and features more than 30 attractions across four zones, with experiences ranging from slides and trampolines to creative activities, live entertainment and character interactions.

Yet Salil’s ambition goes beyond keeping children occupied.

The concept combines play with learning and fantasy with education, creating an environment where curiosity becomes part of the entertainment experience.

At the same time, the needs of parents remain part of the equation. That balance between childhood imagination and premium hospitality distinguishes the brand’s positioning.

It is an approach influenced by Salil’s years in luxury retail. The industries may appear different, but the underlying lesson is similar. People remember how a brand makes them feel.

“Great brands are not simply built around products. They are built around experiences people genuinely want to remember.”

That principle captures the direction of Salil’s journey from premium products toward immersive experiences.

Salil Kumar Malik Turning an Idea Into a Scalable Business

Creating a successful destination is one challenge. Building a concept capable of travelling across markets is another.

As Managing Director, Salil oversees commercial strategy, operations, financial planning, partnerships and international expansion for Boo Boo Laand. His role combines creative ambition with the commercial discipline required to turn an entertainment concept into a scalable business.

That responsibility is becoming increasingly significant as the company moves beyond its Dubai base.

In 2026, Boo Boo Laand entered a major expansion phase involving Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Mumbai.

The expansion is not simply about adding locations. Each new market requires decisions about scale, audience expectations, partnerships and local relevance while preserving the identity that made the original concept distinctive.

Taking the Boo Boo Laand Vision to Riyadh

Riyadh represents one of the clearest examples of the brand’s growing ambition.

Boo Boo Laand is preparing to enter Saudi Arabia at Solitaire Mall in November 2026. The planned destination will span approximately 38,000 square feet and feature more than 60 attractions across around 25 zones.

The expansion arrives as Saudi Arabia continues investing heavily in entertainment, tourism and quality-of-life experiences.

For Salil, Riyadh therefore represents more than geographic growth. It provides an opportunity to test whether the brand’s combination of imagination, hospitality and premium family experiences can translate successfully into another major Middle Eastern market.

The Riyadh concept will serve children from infancy through age 15, with announced experiences including Boo Boo Airport, Boo Boo Jungle and Laser Tag.

Bringing the Concept Back to India

Another important chapter is taking shape in India.

Boo Boo Laand has announced plans to enter Mumbai, with Jio World Plaza identified for its first Indian destination. The company sees wider potential across the country as organised family entertainment grows alongside new premium retail developments.

For Salil, the expansion carries an interesting sense of progression.

His professional foundations were built through Indian luxury retail. Now, after developing Boo Boo Laand in Dubai, he is taking a new consumer experience into the Indian market.

The move also demonstrates the scale of his longer-term ambition. Rather than treating Boo Boo Laand as a single successful Dubai attraction, Salil is working toward developing a business capable of operating across cities and cultures.

Leadership Built on Discipline and Long Term Thinking

Behind colourful environments and imaginative experiences sits a serious business operation.

Salil’s leadership style reflects his background in premium retail, where consistency must survive expansion. Growth can attract attention, but sustainable growth requires financial planning, operational discipline, strong partnerships and a clear understanding of customers.

His professional journey also shows a willingness to move beyond familiar territory.

Leaving the relative familiarity of fashion and accessories to enter family entertainment meant applying existing knowledge to an entirely different industry. Instead of abandoning his luxury background, Salil used it as a foundation.

The result is a business philosophy in which premium positioning is defined by thoughtful experiences rather than simply expensive products.

Building Brands Designed to Endure

Salil’s journey is ultimately about evolution.

Da Milano gave him years of experience within luxury retail. Rosso Brunello allowed him to build a premium brand as a founder. Boo Boo Laand is taking those lessons into a more experiential and international direction.

Today, his portfolio spans luxury retail and family entertainment, connected by an emphasis on quality, innovation and customer experience. His longer-term ambition is to develop globally recognised businesses capable of remaining relevant over time.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, his story carries an important message. Experience gained in one industry does not have to define the limits of the next opportunity. Skills in branding, operations, consumer understanding and leadership can become the foundation for something entirely new.

As Boo Boo Laand expands from Dubai into new cities, Salil is moving into perhaps the most ambitious phase of his career.

The colourful world of children’s entertainment may look very different from the luxury retail environment where his journey developed, but the principle behind both remains remarkably similar.

Understand the customer. Protect the experience. Build with purpose. And create something people want to return to.
