Turned Dubai Struggles Into Creative Success
Dubai often appears to be a city where opportunities move quickly. For Shadil SMK, building a career in the city meant starting with very little and learning how to turn uncertainty into opportunity.

A director, videographer and founder of Growixz Media, Shadil arrived in the UAE in 2024 determined to build something of his own. His journey has included financial pressure, difficult decisions and freelance challenges, but it has also brought important milestones, including seeing his creative work displayed on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Today, his focus is on growing Growixz Media into a global creative agency while creating opportunities for independent creatives to collaborate and find projects.
From Many Ventures to a New Direction
Shadil’s entrepreneurial mindset began in India, where he grew up in a middle class family and experimented with around 28 different ventures. Not every idea worked, but each attempt taught him lessons about business, persistence and adapting when plans change.
Those experiences prepared him for a major decision when he moved to the UAE in July 2024.
Before settling in Dubai, Shadil was in Al Ain, where he received a job offer with a salary of AED 4,500. It appeared to offer stability, but he was told that accepting the position and its visa would prevent him from continuing freelance work or developing his own projects.
Growixz Media was more than a side idea for Shadil. It was the vision he wanted to pursue. He therefore turned down the offer and chose the uncertain path of entrepreneurship.
Starting in Dubai With Almost Nothing
The decision came with a price.
After moving to Dubai, Shadil began earning around AED 1,500 per month. He lived in a small bed space, managed expenses carefully and tried to understand a completely new market.
He did not have a large production setup. He started with a phone and a DJI Osmo Mobile 3, using the resources available to create work and look for opportunities.
The early stage was stressful, but it also gave him a close view of the creative market. He noticed many talented freelancers who could produce strong work but struggled to find consistent clients and projects.
That observation became the foundation of Growixz Media.
Building Growixz Media Around Collaboration
Growixz Media was created to connect independent creatives with businesses that need quality visual and creative services.
Shadil wanted to build more than a conventional agency. His vision was to create a platform and community where freelancers could collaborate, share opportunities and work together instead of constantly struggling for individual projects.
Over time, Growixz Media began gaining the trust of clients across sectors including real estate, property development, rental cars and other businesses.
For Shadil, one of the most rewarding moments comes when a client sees the final result and genuinely feels happy. That reaction reminds him that the long hours and difficult periods are creating something valuable.
From Watching Sheikh Zayed Road to Seeing His Work There
One of Shadil’s most meaningful achievements started with something he saw while travelling through Dubai.
When he first arrived, he noticed the massive billboards, digital hoardings and creative campaigns along Sheikh Zayed Road. He wondered who created them and what it must feel like to see your own work displayed there.
He made a personal promise that before 2026, he would see his own work on Sheikh Zayed Road.
In 2025, that promise became reality.
Through different teams and client projects, Shadil worked on digital hoardings and video campaigns displayed along Sheikh Zayed Road. The moment represented more than professional recognition. It was proof that someone who arrived with limited resources could eventually contribute to the visual landscape he had once admired.
Why His Parents’ Pride Matters Most
Professional recognition is important to Shadil, but the achievement closest to his heart is personal.
When he came to Dubai, he had around AED 100 and very limited resources. Today, he can show his parents what he has built and see their happiness and pride.
For him, that reaction carries more emotional value than any campaign or public display.
His story is therefore also about creating a future that makes the people who supported him proud. The billboards may have reached a large audience, but his parents’ pride remains one of his strongest reminders of progress.
Bringing AI Into Creative Work
Shadil is now increasingly involved in AI and AI powered creative solutions. He wants to explore how emerging technology can improve production, campaigns and content development.
This direction comes as AI becomes increasingly relevant to creative industries. The UAE has also placed growing emphasis on creative industries and responsible AI adoption, creating more space for creators to experiment with new approaches.
For Shadil, technology is not about removing the human side of creativity. It is another tool for expanding possibilities and delivering better results.
His goal is to combine human creative thinking with technology to make content more innovative, effective and accessible.
A Global Vision for Growixz Media
Shadil’s long term ambition is to build Growixz Media into the world’s number one freelance creative agency.
He does not want the agency to be known simply for outsourced work. He wants it to become known for projects that make clients genuinely impressed with the final result.
Accessibility is also central to his vision. He wants Growixz Media to serve budget conscious businesses and larger brands without allowing budget size to determine the quality of creative thinking.
Whether the client is small or established, his aim is to deliver the same commitment to creativity, attention and quality.
Trusting the Vision and Continuing Forward
The biggest lesson Shadil has learned is that people must trust their own vision before expecting others to trust it.
His journey has included failed ventures, financial challenges and uncertainty. Instead of seeing these experiences only as setbacks, he treats them as lessons that helped him become more adaptable.
His life motto is simple: think bigger, start with what you have and never stop improving.
That philosophy shaped his career. He did not wait for perfect equipment, a large office or ideal circumstances. He started with limited resources and improved step by step.
Five Percent Down, Ninety Five Percent Ahead
Despite his progress, Shadil believes he is still near the beginning.
When he arrived in Dubai, he felt he was at only 0.01 percent of where he wanted to be. Today, he considers himself around five percent of the way there.
For him, that is motivation rather than disappointment.
The road ahead includes stronger video production, wider use of AI, bigger creative campaigns and a larger network of independent professionals. His ultimate goal is to build a global agency where the size of a brand never decides the quality of the work.
His message to aspiring entrepreneurs and creatives is straightforward. Start with what you have. Your current circumstances do not have to define your future. Keep learning, creating and improving.
Shadil SMK’s journey from experimenting with businesses in India to building a creative agency in Dubai shows that progress rarely happens in a straight line. Sometimes it begins with a difficult decision, basic equipment and a belief that something bigger is possible.
For Shadil, seeing his work on Sheikh Zayed Road was once a distant dream. Today, it is part of his story. Yet he sees it not as the destination, but as proof that the next chapter can be even bigger.
