Today, Chef Khamees is an Executive Chef, television chef, culinary judge, social media personality and an active member of the Jordanian Chefs Association. Yet behind these professional titles is a story built step by step, beginning with a young chef who entered the culinary world in 2003 and gradually discovered how food could become a powerful way to connect people, preserve culture and inspire future generations.
A Beginning Built on Learning and Discipline
Chef Khamees began his professional culinary journey in 2003 at the Vocational Training Corporation in Jordan. For him, entering the culinary profession was not simply about learning recipes. It was about understanding discipline, kitchen organization, teamwork and the responsibility that comes with preparing food for others.
His next important experience came through two years of training at Alia Airport Hotel. This period helped establish the practical foundation of his career and gave him a closer understanding of professional hospitality operations.
The early years were demanding, but they also shaped his approach to the profession. Chef Khamees learned that becoming a successful chef requires much more than technical ability. It requires patience, consistency and the willingness to learn from every person and every kitchen.
Building Experience Inside Leading Hospitality Brands
As his skills developed, Chef Khamees continued to explore new professional environments. His career took him through some of Jordan’s respected hospitality establishments, including Four Seasons Hotel Amman, Amman Marriott Hotel, Dead Sea Marriott and Kempinski Dead Sea.
He also worked at Blue Fig Restaurant, adding restaurant experience to his background in hotel kitchens. Each role brought a different perspective and challenged him to adapt to new standards, teams and culinary expectations.
His professional journey later expanded beyond Jordan when he worked as a culinary consultant for a restaurant chain in Kuwait. The experience gave him exposure to another market and strengthened his understanding of how culinary operations can differ across countries while still being connected by the same commitment to quality.
For Chef Khamees, these experiences became building blocks rather than isolated jobs. Every kitchen added something to his professional identity.
Combining Professional Experience With Education
While practical experience remained at the heart of his career, Chef Khamees also understood the importance of education. In 2007, he studied Hotel Management at Al Zaytoonah University.
The decision reflected an important part of his philosophy. Experience teaches a chef how to work, but education can provide a wider understanding of hospitality, management and the business behind the industry.
By combining hands on culinary experience with academic knowledge, Chef Khamees continued developing a broader view of the hospitality world. This combination would later become valuable as his career expanded into consulting, television, judging and professional leadership.
The Television Chapter Changed His Reach
A significant turning point arrived in 2014 when Chef Khamees was invited to participate in The Taste, a cooking competition program broadcast on Al Nahar TV in Egypt.
Television introduced him to a different side of the culinary profession. The kitchen was no longer the only place where his skills mattered. He also had to communicate, perform under pressure and connect with an audience.
Years later, in 2021, another major chapter began when he joined Amman TV through Se7tein w Hana. The opportunity allowed him to bring his culinary knowledge into homes and reach people who may never have experienced a professional kitchen themselves.
His television work also helped demonstrate an important evolution in his career. Chef Khamees was no longer simply preparing food. He was sharing knowledge, stories and culinary ideas with a much wider audience.
Chef Khamees Qwaider Representing Jordan Through Culinary Excellence
One of the strongest themes in Chef Khamees’s career is his connection to Jordan.
Over the years, he has represented Jordan in international culinary competitions and events, carrying his professional skills onto regional and international platforms. His participation has allowed him to experience different culinary environments while also contributing to the visibility of Jordanian culinary talent.
His connection to the Jordanian Chefs Association has further strengthened this role. He has served two consecutive terms on its Board of Directors and continues to contribute to the professional culinary community.
His involvement reflects his belief that chefs have a role beyond creating dishes. They can help develop talent, strengthen professional standards and showcase the food culture of their country.
From Competitor to Culinary Judge
Chef Khamees’s experience in competitions eventually opened another door. He became a culinary judge, evaluating chefs and culinary talent at regional and international competitions.
Moving from competitor to judge represents an important stage in his professional development. A judge needs more than cooking knowledge. The role requires experience, objectivity, attention to detail and the ability to recognize both strengths and areas for improvement.
For Chef Khamees, judging has become another way to contribute to the culinary profession. Instead of focusing only on his own performance, he now has the opportunity to observe others, exchange knowledge and encourage emerging culinary professionals.
A Modern Chef Connecting Food With Social Media
The culinary industry has changed dramatically over the past two decades, and Chef Khamees has continued to adapt.
Today, social media is an important part of his professional presence. Through culinary content, he connects with audiences beyond restaurants, hotels and television.
His digital presence allows him to make cooking more accessible and engaging while giving viewers a glimpse into the personality behind the chef. It also demonstrates how modern culinary professionals can build influence across several platforms rather than depending on one traditional career path.
This ability to adapt has been an important part of Chef Khamees’s longevity in the industry.
The Next Goal Is Personal and Entrepreneurial
After more than 23 years in the culinary and hospitality industry, Chef Khamees is looking toward a new challenge. His current goal is to launch his own culinary business and develop a distinctive brand based on his experience, knowledge and passion for cooking.
The ambition represents a natural progression in his career. After spending years learning inside professional kitchens, working with major hospitality brands, appearing on television and participating in international events, building something of his own offers the opportunity to bring all those experiences together.
At the same time, he wants to continue representing Jordan internationally, participating in competitions, contributing as a judge and helping develop the next generation of culinary talent.
The Lesson Behind a Long Culinary Career
For Chef Khamees, success has never been about one award, one position or one television appearance. His greatest achievement is the ability to keep growing.
His journey demonstrates that careers are rarely built overnight. They are shaped through years of work, difficult moments, new opportunities and continuous learning.
His philosophy is straightforward. Passion can open the door, but commitment and hard work keep a person moving forward. Staying humble, respecting colleagues and remaining open to learning are qualities he believes can create a career that lasts.
This mindset has allowed him to move from trainee to Executive Chef, from chef to television personality, and from competitor to culinary judge and professional leader.
A Journey That Continues to Evolve
Chef Khamees Qwaider’s story is ultimately about evolution.
He began with professional training and gradually built experience across hotels, restaurants and different markets. He expanded his knowledge through education, stepped into television, represented Jordan internationally and became involved in culinary judging and professional leadership.
Now, as he looks toward launching his own culinary brand, the journey is entering another chapter.
His message to aspiring chefs and anyone pursuing a difficult career is simple. Believe in yourself, stay committed to your passion and never be afraid to begin again. Every challenge can teach something valuable, and every experience can become part of a bigger story.
For Chef Khamees, the kitchen remains more than a workplace. It is a place of learning, creativity and connection. After more than two decades, his story continues to show that when passion is supported by discipline, humility and perseverance, a culinary career can become much more than a profession. It can become a platform for representing culture, inspiring people and creating opportunities for those who follow.
