With 15 years of experience in filmmaking and content creation and 13 years in acting, Hassan has established himself as a versatile creative professional. His expertise extends across directing, acting, screenwriting, film editing, sound design, and voice-over performance.
But what makes his story particularly meaningful is the inspiration behind his career.
Hassan is the grandson of the late Egyptian filmmaker Hassan Reda, who directed several classic black-and-white Egyptian films, including Al-Moallema, The Haunted Palace, and The Happiest Days.
His grandfather’s dedication to filmmaking, especially his involvement in editing his own productions, deeply influenced Hassan’s artistic approach.
Today, Hassan continues that tradition by personally editing and contributing to the sound design of the films he directs. However, his ambition extends beyond preserving a family name. He wants to create his own identity as an internationally recognized actor and filmmaker.
Overcoming Personal Challenges With Determination and Family Support
Every successful journey has moments that test a person’s strength. For Hassan, one of the most difficult experiences came in 2011 when he lost his father.
The loss became a defining moment in his personal life, but the encouragement of his mother helped him continue pursuing his dreams.
Hassan considers his mother one of his greatest supporters and hopes to honor her through his future achievements.
Throughout his journey, he has also faced doubts from people who questioned whether his ambitions were achievable. Instead of allowing those opinions to discourage him, he chose to trust his abilities and continue developing his craft.
His philosophy is rooted in the belief that meaningful dreams require courage, patience, and persistence.
For Hassan, success is not about avoiding challenges. It is about finding the strength to continue even when the future remains uncertain.
Learning From Legendary Filmmakers and Acting Mentors
Hassan understands that talent becomes stronger through education, practice, and mentorship.
One of the most influential figures in his filmmaking journey has been renowned Egyptian director Dr. Ali Badrakhan, whom Hassan considers his artistic godfather.
Learning from such an experienced filmmaker helped him develop a deeper appreciation for storytelling, cinematic composition, and the emotional power of film.
His acting development has also been shaped by workshops with Egyptian actress Noha El Amroussy and Scottish stage actor Laurance Rudic.
These experiences introduced him to different acting techniques, including stage performance and acting for the camera.
Since 2017, Hassan has been a member of the Egyptian Cinema Syndicate, further strengthening his professional connection with the Egyptian film industry.
Award Winning Short Films That Crossed International Borders
Hassan’s filmmaking career includes numerous short films that have been screened at local and international festivals.
Among his notable projects are The Elevator, From A Different Point of View, The Filled Half, Contact, One Last Chance, and Bardi.
His short film Contact received an honorable mention for Best International Short Film at the Campinas International Film Festival in Brazil in December 2022.
In January 2023, Contact also received the Best International Short Film award at the Celluloid Calcutta International Film Festival in India.
His documentary Bardi, supported by Sony and Film My Design, became another important project in his creative journey.
The documentary received an honorable mention at the third Film My Design Film Festival in Cairo in October 2024.
In May 2025, Hassan received a Best Director award for Bardi at a Film Society event in Dubai.
His international recognition continued in March 2026 when Bardi secured third place in the Best Short Foreign Documentary category at the India International Star Film Festival Awards.
At the same festival, Hassan also received third place in the Best Actor category for Last Call for the Cure, filmed at Paramount Hotel in Dubai with support from Nikon and Paramount Hotels.
These recognitions have encouraged Hassan to continue creating films that connect with audiences beyond geographical and cultural boundaries.
From Egyptian Productions to New Opportunities in the UAE
Before relocating to the UAE, Hassan developed his acting experience through Egyptian short films including Absent Presence, From A Different Point of View, Not That Bad, Victim, and Argus.
He also appeared in Episode 22 of the 2023 Ramadan television series London Class, produced by MBC and directed by Mohamed Bakir.
Between August 2020 and March 2024, Hassan operated Legacy Media Zone, his freelance media production brand.
Through this venture, he worked on documentaries, advertisements, music videos, podcasts, event coverage, and commercial productions.
His clients included EgyptAir, Huawei, Bazooka Fried Chicken, Ritzy Mall Plaza, and Silver Gate Mall.
Managing multiple production responsibilities strengthened his technical knowledge and taught him how to combine creativity with professional discipline.
After spending approximately two years living and working in Dubai, Hassan moved to Abu Dhabi in April 2026.
The UAE has become an important chapter in his journey, offering opportunities to collaborate with international production teams and explore diverse creative roles.
Expanding His Acting Career Through International Film Projects

As an actor, Hassan continues to explore characters across different genres, languages, and cultural settings.
His UAE short-film appearances include Painted Truth, Iago, Last Call for the Cure, Fur-Ever Friends, Limbo, HVAC, Ruya, and VID_231.
He has also appeared in advertisements for brands and campaigns including Dubai Food Festival, Sapil Perfume, Kavak, and Whiteline Detergents.
Among his recent television projects is the Russian series Hostage, featuring Lebanese actor Nicolas Mouawad alongside Russian performers.
Hassan describes his character as particularly intense, offering an opportunity to demonstrate another side of his acting abilities.
He has also worked as a co-star in John Shaw: Nuclear Winter, an international feature produced by Abu Dhabi-based Rich Talent Vision.
The production brings together performers from several countries, reflecting the increasingly international nature of filmmaking in the UAE.
Hassan currently works as a production coordinator at Rich Talent Vision while continuing to develop his independent creative projects.
He also reports having a small appearance in the John Krasinski-led production Jack Ryan: Ghost War, adding another international project to his growing acting portfolio.
Hold On Marks a New Chapter in His Filmmaking Career
One of Hassan’s most significant recent milestones is directing and editing his first feature-length film, Hold On.
Filmed in Dubai, the movie stars Hassan alongside Margot Bond and Ira Kovalenko.
The screenplay was written by Stella Kass, while Hayam Sabry served as producer.
Currently in post-production, Hold On represents an important step forward in Hassan’s ambition to establish himself as a feature-film director.
Moving from short films to feature-length storytelling requires greater creative responsibility, detailed planning, and a deeper understanding of character development.
For Hassan, the project brings together the skills he has developed throughout his career, from acting and directing to editing and sound design.
He is also preparing another project titled On the Way, a horror thriller short film based on a screenplay he wrote approximately three years ago.
The planned Dubai production will allow him to explore suspense and psychological storytelling through his own creative vision.
A Bigger Dream of Representing Egyptian Cinema Worldwide
Despite his growing list of projects and achievements, Hassan believes his journey is still developing.
His long-term ambition is to gain wider recognition throughout the Middle East and internationally, both through his performances and the films he creates.
He hopes to represent Egyptian culture and the wider Arab world through meaningful stories that resonate with global audiences.
More importantly, Hassan wants his accomplishments to honor the people who shaped his life, particularly his parents and the grandfather whose cinematic legacy inspired his childhood dreams.
His journey carries an important message for aspiring actors and filmmakers. Success does not always happen quickly, and talent alone is rarely enough. Progress requires learning, consistency, sacrifice, and the courage to believe in possibilities that others may not yet see.
From Egyptian cinema roots to international film productions, Hassan continues to build a career guided by passion and purpose.
For him, the ultimate achievement will not simply be appearing on bigger screens or receiving international recognition. It will be knowing that he continued his family’s artistic legacy while creating something meaningful and entirely his own.
