Known as an author, professor, speaker, strategist and entrepreneur, Hanane has spent more than two decades working across business, government, education and entrepreneurship. From Casablanca to a Global Leadership Journey

Hanane’s story began in Casablanca, Morocco.

Her early life was shaped by a strong belief in community, knowledge and the importance of helping people move forward. Those values later travelled with her when she continued her education and professional journey in New York.

The move exposed her to a completely different pace of life and business culture.

New York gave Hanane international experience, while her academic path strengthened her understanding of business, finance and management.

She later completed an MBA and DBA, adding formal business knowledge to a career that would eventually cross multiple industries.

By 2005, another major chapter had begun.

Dubai became home.

When Hanane arrived in Dubai, the city was still in an earlier stage of the transformation that would later make it a major international business hub.

For her, Dubai offered an unusual combination.

It had the global energy she had experienced in New York while also keeping her close to the Arab world and its culture.

She worked across financial services, investments, retail, franchise development, government initiatives and nonprofit organisations.

Those years exposed her to different leadership styles and organisational cultures.

Entrepreneurship Changed the Direction of Her Career

In 2014, Hanane made a major professional shift.

After years of corporate and institutional experience, she moved fully into entrepreneurship and founded Sustain Leadership Consultancy.

The decision allowed her to focus more deeply on leadership transformation, organisational culture, innovation and human centered business.

Leaving established structures to build something independently brought a different kind of responsibility.

Hanane had to create the direction herself.

She also worked with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, where she was involved in innovation and entrepreneurship programmes across the Arab world.

SEEDS of Change Turned Experience Into a Framework

Hanane eventually transformed many of those lessons into her book SEEDS of Change.

The book introduced a leadership framework built around five ideas.

Sense, Engage, Empower, Develop and Sustain.

Rather than treating change as something organisations should fear, Hanane encouraged leaders to become more comfortable with uncertainty and continuous transformation.

The book became a number one bestseller on Amazon UAE and gave her leadership philosophy a wider audience.

But the framework was never intended to remain only on the page.

Hanane continued developing it through leadership programmes, workshops and executive conversations.

For her, knowledge has value only when people can apply it.

Recognition Followed but Purpose Remained Central

Hanane’s work has received recognition over the years.

Her awards include the Saphira Award from Morocco in 2016, the Game Changer Award in the Middle East in 2019, the Mastercard Visionary Women Leadership Award in 2024 and the Impact Woman Award in 2025.

She has also written for major business publications and participated in conferences, leadership forums and international discussions.

Yet her public message rarely focuses only on awards.

The more consistent theme is impact.

Hanane frequently discusses culture, inclusion, sustainability and whether organisations actually live the values they promote publicly.
